My Sister

We’ve known each other

our entire lives and somehow

I think you knew me before

I was even born.

You know my faults,

my loves, my secrets and

my fears in this journey

that we’ve been given together.

And you’ve always been

there for me.

Thank you for selecting me

in your heart.

To be your sister

and your friend.

A Mother’s Love

You carried us

before we could walk

And sang to us

  before we could talk.

 You’ve held us close

and always near

And whispered away

our every fear.

 You’ve kissed our nose

And eyes and face

And blessed us with

God’s holy grace.

 Yours is a love that

hugs and mends.

It never leaves and

Never ends.

With Saint Patrick’s Day right around the corner there are lots of good times to be had. The color green, leprechauns, parties, parades and decorations are everywhere. No matter your heritage, everyone has Irish eyes, and a brogue at least for one day. There are many symbols used to represent Saint Patrick’s Day, but none more recognizable than the Four Leaf Clover.

Carried by many in history, from Abraham Lincoln to Napoleon, the Four Leaf Clover is of course equated with good luck. However, there is also some lesser known symbolism attributed to the famous four leaves. Each leaf actually has it’s own meaning. One leaf of course for luck, and the next three each for faith, hope and love. This symbolism evolved from the use of the three-leaved Shamrock as a tool to explain the Holy Trinity by Saint Patrick to his disciples. So while you are celebrating, take a moment and think about the meaning of this beautiful symbol. And always remember, when you have faith, hope and love in your life, you can truly consider yourself lucky.

Why not share this beautiful reminder of all that is good in life by giving someone special one of our gorgeous Sterling Silver Four Leaf Clover Necklaces. Everyday they will have a reminder of how lucky they are, and the faith, hope, love and luck you wish for them.

Imagine facing what, at the time you think are your final moments on this Earth. What would be going through your mind? Who would you be thinking of? As your life flashed before your eyes would you be afraid, or full of hope and strength? Truthfully, none of us can answer these questions unless we’ve been in that situation. That is exactly where people along the east coast  found themselves while coming face to face with the power of Hurricane Sandy. One of the most harrowing accounts of this incredible storm comes from a 28 year old New Jersey man named Mike. His story was written about when a note he wrote to his Father, in what looked to be his final moments was discovered.

You can read Mike’s story here.

Mike found strength and courage in his will to live, and be reunited with his Father. Even when he thought he would not make it, he wanted his Father to know he tried. He chose his last words on Earth to be, “God Almighty, help me.” Our line of inspirational Gifts are designed to give you the strength and hope to get through terrible and frightening situations, and to ask for help from above when needed. Luckily, most of us will never face a challenge as immediate as Mike’s, but no matter the obstacles we need strength and hope each and everyday. Whether it be an illness, an injury, or life’s everyday tribulations, our Hope and a Future and Fear Not   necklaces will serve as a reminder to have the hope strength to keep going, no matter what we face.

Easter is once again on the horizon and the time to celebrate Lent is here. As adults, we want our children to enjoy the season just as we did as kids. Dying Easter eggs and waiting for the Easter Bunny is a wonderful and fun tradition for your children. But, there is much more to the season than egg hunts and candy. It is important as parents to teach the meaning of Lent to our children. It’s true, your children may not be receptive to the idea of giving something up for forty days and forty nights, and the sacrifices of Jesus may not be completely clear at a young age. However, by learning their faith from their parents and their church, children can grow to understand what the season is all about.

Focusing on faith and the stories of the Bible may be a much more effective teaching method to get through to your children than having them give something up. As they learn why people sacrifice during the season, they may become inspired on their own to follow suit. Each night after dinner, sit down as a family and read a passage from the Bible. Focus on the passages that explain the origin of the Lent and Easter Season. It is a fun way for your children to discover the meanings behind these traditions. It also makes for some quality family time.

If you do want your children to make a sacrifice for Lent, tell them to look at their sacrifice as a gift to Jesus to say thank you for his sacrifices. Alternatively, instead of giving something up, they can add a positive behavior by performing a good deed each of the forty days and nights.

You can also give your child, or any loved one a beautiful memento of the season by giving them one of our beautiful Bible Scripture Necklaces. They are beautiful sterling silver pendants that will serve as a reminders of our favorite passages from the Bible. They include a hand stamped message that can be worn and cherished forever.

Longest-married couple in the U.S. celebrates more than 80 years together The world was recently introduced to John and Ann Betar, the longest married couple in the United States. At 101 and 97 years old, they have lived a fulfilling and happy life together by following a few simple rules, and enjoying their always growing family. Through love and compromise they have shared love and marriage for 80 years. Their relationship proves that nothing can stand in the way of true love. These days, it may not seem too easy to compromise, or make time with each other. Lasting marriages seem to be inspiring stories in their own right, not just ones that last 80 years. The world has become a busy, fast paced place where time for your spouse is not always a priority. We all need to take a step back at times and realize what is truly important in our lives. After all love may not be all we need, but we all need it. When we have it, we need to grab on and not let go. That is what John and Ann did, and look at all the beauty they've shared. We may not all be lucky enough to share a love for 80 years, nonetheless, the time we have together is special. Our Sterling Silver Love Pendant is a beautiful symbol of love you can cherish for all the years to come. It is a wonderful way to show the world the love and faith that two special people share. Like John and Ann, every couple is special, and every love is different. This unique pendant represents that relationship beautifully.
